For a long time, our motto at Mothers Guild has been “Dads make the difference!”
From attending Pre-Natal Breastfeeding Class with Mom, to actively participating in a home consultation, Dads truly keep the new family afloat with by coming to groups and classes, changing diapers, giving mom neck rubs and nourishing foods, to keeping extra visitors at bay so Mom and baby can bond and establish a nursing relationship.

“When Noa was born in 2007, we expected breastfeeding to be as natural and beautiful in practice as it is in concept and rosy after-the-fact motherhood articles. It wasn’t, and we struggled. Renee was right there with us from moment one to catch positioning, supply, and other problems when or before they started, with fresh and gentle knowledge about WHY these issues arise, and how common they really are. She never even hinted that we “couldn’t” do it if we were committed, yet left space for us to find our own way…what a miraculous balance! Breastfeeding is a delicate endeavor prone to guilt and blame from many directions, but with Renee’s loving blend of success-tested know-how for the mechanics of it and her compassionate way for a family’s emotional journey, we could glide right over all of that and have an extremely gratifying breastfeeding experience with our daughter!” -evan austin
“As a father, I am very appreciative of how inclusive Renee’s breastfeeding class, home consultation, and breastfeeding support group were. I was able to syringe-feed my daughter and help both my daughter and my wife transition to breast feeding. Renee encouraged me and I was able to be very involved in my infant daughter’s life and her mother’s child-rearing challenges, instead of being consigned to watch my wife face the difficulties alone. The father’s role in child-rearing can be much more than what it is relegated to in modern society.
Renee’s breast-feeding group provided a sensitive and supportive environment to work through our feeding challenges. With Renee’s expertise, we were able to breastfeed our daughter. My wife, daughter and I are forever grateful for the help Renee has provided.”
